Since the Kentucky Pro Football’s Hall of Fame beginnings in 2003 we have been delighted to discover the increased categories in which Kentuckians – by birth, education, vocation, residency have been involved in Pro Football Leagues. The love of football brings many nominees to our selection committee who use the following guidelines of residency and participation for final selection. We are proud of these persons of personal and professional success through whom we will continue to celebrate Kentuckians and the great sport of football.
The criteria must be met for both residency and participation are listed below:
Kentucky Residency

Born in Kentucky supersedes all other residency requirements.
RR.01
Player:
1 year or 1 season on roster of KY college/university team or 5 years as resident of KY
RR.02
Head Coach:
1 year as a Head Coach of KY college/university team or 5 years as resident of KY
RR.03
Assistant Coach:
5 years as an Assistant Coach of KY college/university team or 5 years as resident of KY
RR.04
Referee, Owner, General Manager, Executive, Media:
5 years as resident of KY
Pro Football League Participation Requirements
PR.01
Player:
5 years on Pro Football Team (with accreditation by the team)
PR.02
Head Coach:
5 years as Pro Football Head Coach or Pro Football Championship (i.e. Superbowl or Grey Cup) winner
PR.03
Assistant Coach:
10 years as Pro Football Assistant Coach or Pro Football Championship (i.e. Superbowl or Grey Cup) winner
PR.04
Referee, Owner, General Manager, Executive, Media:
Worked 10 years in the industry and made a significant contribution to Pro Football.
Esteemed Distinction
ED.01
NFL Induction:
Any Player, Coach, Referee, Owner, General Manager, Executive or Media etc. that meets resident and participation and is inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame is automatically a member of the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame.
ED.02
Board Consideration:
It is the prerogative of the Selection Committee or the Board of Directors to nominate an individual who meets the residency requirements and has made such rare and extraordinary contribution to professional football that they deserve consideration for induction in the KY Pro Football Hall of Fame at the discretion of the Board of Directors through an in- depth vetting process by the Board
