About George Wilson

A standout athlete at the University of Arkansas, Wilson began his college career as a quarterback before switching to wide receiver, demonstrating his adaptability and team first mentality. After going undrafted in 2004, he signed with the Buffalo Bills and transitioned yet again this time to safety, where he would ultimately thrive in the NFL.
Wilson’s football IQ, discipline, and instincts made him a key contributor on defense and special teams. He worked his way up from special teams ace to full time starter, and by 2009, had earned the role of defensive captain for the Bills. Known for his leadership and reliability, he led the team in tackles during several seasons and earned the Buffalo Bills’ Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2009, an honor recognizing excellence in community service and performance on the field.
In 2013, he signed with the Tennessee Titans, bringing veteran leadership and continuing his impactful play. Over his 10-year NFL career, Wilson played in 116 games, recording over 600 tackles, 14 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 sacks, cementing his reputation as a smart, physical, and passionate competitor.
Off the field, Wilson built a legacy through his George Wilson S.A.F.E.T.Y. Foundation, focused on Supporting Advancement through Family Engagement, Training, and Youth development. Through mentoring programs, health initiatives, and educational workshops, his foundation has empowered underprivileged youth to reach their full potential, especially in his hometown of Paducah, Kentucky.
