About Frank Fuller

Frank Fuller emerged as an intimidating defensive tackle in the NFL. His athletic journey began at the University of Kentucky, where he showed his talent on the field. At Kentucky, he lettered in football from 1950 to 1952, establishing himself as a formidable presence on the defensive line. His performance at the collegiate level showcased his resilience and skill, laying the groundwork for his future professional career.

Despite being selected in the 26th round of the 1952 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams, Fuller deferred his professional debut to fulfill military service obligations with the United States Army.

Upon completing his service, Fuller’s NFL tenure spanned nine seasons, during which he played for the Los Angeles Rams (1953–1958), the Chicago/St. Louis Cardinals (1959–1962), and the Philadelphia Eagles (1963). He appeared in 95 games, starting 77 of them, and recorded 15.5 sacks over his career. Notably, in 1959, while with the Chicago Cardinals, Fuller was selected for the Pro Bowl and earned second-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press, highlighting his impact on the field that season.

After retiring from professional football, Fuller led a relatively private life. While specific details about his post football endeavors are limited, his contributions to the sport were recognized posthumously.

Frank Fuller passed away on December 14, 1993, in Los Angeles County, California. His legacy endures through his on-field accomplishments and the recognition he received for his contributions to the game.
